Not wasted time

thebookcollectorsd

When do you set aside time for your devotional reading? Some choose the morning. Some choose the evening. Some squeeze it in as time permits in the busyness of daily life. Having a large collection of reads at my fingertips and wanting to fill my day with morning, noon and nighttime prayer, my usual pattern is to have three devotionals going at any given time. My morning book presently is a great mini read to get you going before the work day (sorry, I don't have a spare in my collection and, it is a keeper-"Mornings with God". The afternoon is often a 30 or 90 day devotional that will be replaced with another which I put in my lunch tote and read at work (which also provides opportunities to share as occasions permit, with coworkers). The current in use was a gift from a friend, Terry called "Devotions from the Mountains" and is filled with breathtaking, beautiful pictures of God's artistry. My evening read before sleep this year is a 365 day devotional by Derek Prince, "Declaring God's Word".

These are not my highlights for today but are shared to encourage you to choose some of your own. Much of our time is filled with scrolling the internet and social media on our phones...wasted minutes, hours, days. Believe me, I am guilty too! Why not use some of those minutes in a productive, beneficial way? What we see and hear and read affects our thoughts. Our thoughts affect our actions. Our actions impact ourselves and others.

Today's two devotional highlights are: "Breakfast with God" and Sunset with God".
