"Instant" has it's Limitations

thebookcollectorsd

We live in an "Instant Gratification" type of society where the answers to our questions at at the touch of our fingertips on the world wide web. Resources are discovered within seconds. No longer is it a usual occurrence that students of all ages return home after a trip to the library with piles of books in tote for the latest homework project. Most homes do not have bookshelves lined with encyclopedias or other reference materials. Kindles, Nooks, tablets and phones contain a litany of readable materials. But if you are like me, there is just something about the touch and feel and smell of a book in hand. Book covers, titles and some authors draw me in. The quick accessibility of online products can pose unnecessary distraction and spend valuable time on useless waste. Imagine the power is out, the wifi is down, a long drive, a plane ride, sitting in the sunshine at a park or a beach and you may appreciate the value of a book.
