There are many types of bookmarks...the traditional kind in a long rectangular shape with a phrase and picture. Some are magnetic. Others are unique, handmade of ribbon, feathers, fabric and beads. Occasionally when a bookmark was not easily accessible, I've resorted to a piece of paper or post it note and even have done the undesirable dog-eared corner to mark my place. How about you?
If you have purchased a book from The Book Collector's Daughter, you have likely received a bookmark. This is one of our signatures and a gift to you for the purchase. It is a fond memory of mom, who often gave them as gifts both alone or in a book. Many times while adding titles to the website a bookmark, note or inscription is found among the pages of the books as they are being cleaned and examined. A firm believer that not much occurs by happenstance...this bookmark was found in a book (a Life Principles Daily Bible) last Saturday, February 4th which was the third anniversary of mom's homegoing. Having been in thought of her throughout the day, it was a pleasant surprise. A gift. Though I don't specifically recall giving it to her, in retrospect, it may have been given in a card. Or quite possibly, one of my sisters could have gifted it to her. Might she have had it in remembrance of her own mother? In any regard, I will always remember the things that she taught me and, how very much I was loved.
