There is so much that we can fill our minds with, much of it...just plain garbage. Why not consider reading a good book. Reading is a great pastime. One set aside for the mundane until realizing the mundane, is just that. Prior to the start of each new year I'll now choose a selection of book types, topics and titles from my bookshelf, only to be adjusted if the Spirit leads or, when a friend or loved one gifts me a book that looks deserving to meet the year's quest. My reading goal for the year is 23 in '23. Not just any books-the usual daily investment of God's Word and selected devotionals, as well as a couple books on the nightstand for which a chapter before bed helps me to unwind and press toward the mark. As each are completed others take their place. Once read, some are so wonderful that they resume a place on the shelf. Others that are good or even grand are passed along for someone else to enjoy. Have you considered what is on your shelf lately or, what you are filling your mind and your time with?
